Globe, Arizona is a small mining town located in the east-central part of the state. The general population of Globe and surrounding satellite towns is approximately 10,000. The volatile global markets have direct impact on the production and employment at the local mines, resulting in typically uncertain area economic forecasts. Families move in and out of the area to meet mine demands, and currently the domestic copper industry is in a significant decline.
Holy Angels School was opened in the fall of 1956. The Presentation Sisters from the town of Crosshaven, County Cork, Ireland were the first teachers. Some of the first Sisters to teach at the school were Mother Mary Ita, and Sisters Mary Patricia, Carmel and Frances. Our present-day Sisters are Sister Consilio O'Keeffe, Sister Agnes Walsh, and Sister Anne McCormick.
