Los Angeles CommunityOur Mission...

... is to provide a caring community where adults, many of whom are immigrants transitioning into a new culture, can avail themselves of educational opportunities in their own area.

Learning Center studentOur Goals...

... are to increase literacy, empower students to acquire employment or better jobs, promote communication within the family, improve family health-care, promote self-esteem in the students, and help them appreciate theircontribution to the church and community.

We try to meet our Goals...
... by offering classes in English, U.S. History and citizenship preparation, computerskills, parenting skills, nutrition, crafts and sewing, prayer, and Scripture. Providing child-care while parents attend class is an important service offered by our program. Now in its eighth year, the Presentation Learning Center boasts some 400 new U.S. citizens and hundreds of adults who have completed various levels of study. Students model the fashions they create in our sewing classes at our annual fashion show.

Congratulations to our Folklorico dancers...
Ballet FolkloricoThe women in our Ballet Folklorico, all of whom are immigrants, recently took their places in the Los Angeles Christmas Parade, dancing to a Latino beat dressed in their spectactular costumes. Women who live in the shadows of our society, without a voice or a vote, proudly contributed a piece of their cultureal heritage in this multicultural city. The women make their own costumes, and practice their difficult dance routines at the Presenation Learning Center after having worked hard all day long in factories. As they say, "it gives them joy."
