OUR STORY
We are two Presentation Associates: Flo Sanfilippo from Southern California, U.S.A. and Lesley Maker from Sydney, Australia. We are ordinary lay women committed to living the mission and charism of Nano Nagle, Foundress of the Presentation Sisters. Lesley works as an ESL teacher with Adults, in Outreach classes with mainly Sudanese refugees. She is a member of WCCM, World Community for Christian Meditation, and meets with her meditation group twice a week, following the John Main model of silent meditation. Flo is a spiritual director, retreat director (adults and youth), Reiki Master-Teacher, a member of the Vocation Committee in the US Province, and Presentation Learning Center volunteer.
In October 2000, we were introduced via the Internet by Sister Vera Butler, a member of the Union of the Sisters of the Presentation - U.S. Province. Even though the two of us have never met in person, we correspond by e-mail, pray for one another, and for Presentation Associates and Sisters around the world. We have become e-mail prayer partners, with a common dream of inviting other Presentation Associates to join us. Our dream has become a reality through the formation of the International Network of Prayer.
We would like to extend an invitation to enroll in the Network of Prayer. Our purpose is to unite Presentation Associates around the world that we might become like Nano Nagle, and grow in our love for God and Nano's mission to minister to victims of injustice and oppression as well as the poor and marginalized.
As a member of the Network of Prayer, we would ask that you commit to saying a common prayer every day. In doing so, we re-commit ourselves to God, pray for each other, and for new members to join us as Presentation Associates.
