For the seventeenth year, St. Norbert Catholic School in Orange, California USA, announced its 2025 Nano Nagle Award recipients from Grades K-3 and Grades 4-8. Students created drawings and essays recognizing the ways each winner reflects the qualities of Nano Nagle and the Presentation Sisters, four of whom opened St. Norbert Catholic School in 1965. Pictured with the campus statue of Nano holding their “Be the Light” lanterns and certificates are Mrs. Deanna Garvey, 3rd Grade and Mr. David Nguyen, Junior High Math. Among the nominations, Mrs. Garvey was cited for the way “she teaches me and makes me smarter”, and “she gives me second chances, just like Nano.” Likewise, Mr. Nguyen “shows the second quality of the Presentation Sisters, kindness”, and “wants all students to succeed”. Congratulations to Principal Joe Ciccoianni and staff. Catholic education is alive and strong at St. Norbert Catholic School with plans underway to celebrate the school’s sixty years of outstanding academic achievement!
