PBVM-US Unit Statement of Public Commitment to the Laudato Si Action Platform:
In the spirit of our foundress, Nano Nagle, we commit to living out the Call of our Congregational Gathering 2018: To Live Contemplatively, Walk Lightly on Earth and Witness Prophetically. Hence, we commit to:

Honoring the sacredness of life in all its forms.

Hearing and responding to the cry of the Earth and the cry of the poor by deepening our Spirituality of Being in Communion (C3), aware always of our interconnectedness with each other and all of creation.

Furthering our ongoing ecological conversion by continued participation in the study of and reflection on Laudato Si’.

Being intentional about praying in silence or in other ways for the whole of creation.

Making decisions mindful of their impact on people kept poor and their effects on the ecological system.

Acting in respect for all of creation by choosing to conserve, recycle, reduce, reuse, and repurpose; by consciously using energy saving devices, when available; by living simply.

Continuing to “work for the transformation of unjust systems” (C9) and to collaborate with those “who promote a more inclusive community of life" (C12).

This commitment is made in faith, hope, and love, knowing that we are participating in God’s work of transformation, “for we know that things can change” (LS 13).
